More and more people in today’s society have made the choice to eat healthier and exercise more often, in order to live a longer life. One of the choices made by people is the decision to eat only organic foods. The main question asked is what overall organic food benefits there are as opposed to non-organic foods?
While many experts say that scientific evidence does not fully support organic food benefits, dieticians will beg to differ. Many believe that the chemicals and additives contained in processed foods are very dangerous for the body. The chemicals contain dangerous toxins that manifest themselves as free radicals. As the free radicals build up within the body, it becomes harder and harder for the organs to release the free radicals, causing major health problems later in life.
Organic food benefits exist in the absence of any chemicals and additives. Dieticians firmly believe that eating fresh fruits and vegetables and other organic products help the body to cleanse itself of dangerous toxins much quicker, giving the body the ability to cleanse itself more naturally.
Other organic food benefits are that the organic foods are tested by Quality Assurance International (QAI) and are certified to have reached a minimum standard considered acceptable as an organic food. Dieticians believe that these types of foods represent that a meal can be prepared without detriment to the body.
Dieticians also believe that organic food benefits are especially important for children. By starting a child out early on organic foods, they believe that weight and dental problems can be averted in the future, and hyperactivity among children who eat organic foods is greatly decreased.
Dieticians further believe that organic food benefits are especially important in fighting off cancer. Many organic products contain Vitamin B, beta carotene and other important nutrients that are known to fight off cancer cells in the body. Dieticians also believe that by introducing chemicals from processed foods into the body decreases the body’s ability to fight off cancerous cells and further erodes the body’s immune system.
